Poster: The Role of Intangible Resources (IR) in Improving Quality in Hospitals
Hussain Hamed's abstract is below:
This PhD research aims to explore the role of intangible resources (IR) in improving quality in Saudi hospitals. The expected outcome of this research will give a better understanding on how intangible resources can improve quality in hospitals.
Therefore, my research attempts to identify key intangible resources that have impact on quality, and explore how key intangible resources can improve quality in hospitals.
Specific element of (IR) were found to have impact on quality. Human capital (professional competencies and skills, professional behaviour, clinical professional experience, motivation, and knowledge), structural capital (information systems, quality management system, and training programmes), and relational capital (internal, and external relationships). By adopting realist evaluation approach, the main study will focus on how these identified (IR) can improve quality in Saudi hospitals.
